The National Program for Improvement of Watercourses in PakistanPhase-II is a 05 Year project which aims to enhance and improve 59,427 watercourses, construction of 16,932 water storage tanks and 16,610 laser land levelers across all the 04 provinces of Pakistan including Gilgit-Baltistan, Azad Jammu & Kashmir & Islamabad Capital Territory. Project aims to provide social mobilization, minimization of filed application losses, reduction in water logging & salinity, equity in water distribution, involvement of farmers, poverty reduction and increase in crop productivity.

Scope of Services

  • Establish standards, parameters, and specifications for watercourses, LASER land leveling units, and on-farm water storage tanks. 
  • Inspect and provide guidance on construction materials and equipment standards and specifications. 
  • Offer project management support to NPC, provincial DGs/Directors, and District Offices as needed. 
  • Review and validate plans, designs, and cost estimates for watercourses, water storage tanks, and LASER land levelers. 
  • Develop design guidelines for project zones, tailored to local conditions and practices in consultation with provincial DGAs. 
  • Verify completed schemes by participating partners before contract signing. 
  • Ensure implemented watercourses, water storage tanks, and LASER land levelers meet approved design and specifications. 
  • Report compliance/non-compliance of works to provincial DGs, Directors, and NPC. 
  • Submit monthly, quarterly, and annual progress reports, along with other periodic reports as required by project management.
