Asia Regional Economic Cooperation Regional Improving Border Services Project aims to construct three border crossing facilities, two on the border with Afghanistan, at Torkham and Chaman, and one on the border with India, at Wagha. These facilities encompass a total of 33 building frame structures, as well as infrastructure elements like roads, bypasses, bridges, sewage systems, drainage systems, water supply systems, green landscaping, and security towers. It also includes IT Connectivity and IT Systems and Security Trade Facilitation Equipment
The executing agency for the project will be the Government’s Federal Board of Revenue (FBR). The project’s civil works are being implemented through separate engineer-procure- construct (EPC) contracts, one for each border crossing facility. The scope of all of the contracts include all civil and building works necessary to complete the facilities and the supply, installation and commissioning of the communications, security and other equipment required for the functioning of the facilities.
