Government of Punjab executed this project in the entire province to upgrade the decades old Farm to Market roads in the entire province to improve rural communication infrastructure, aiding transportation of agricultural and industrial goods. This fast track project was completed in several phases with each phase spanning over a period of six months. RHC provided services in all four phases of the project in different divisions such as Multan, DG Khan, Faisalabad and Rawalpindi for 125 no. of roads with a total length of 1408km and an estimated cost of Rs. 14481 Million. 

 The roads to be improved were identified and prioritized by the District Coordination Committees (DCCs) of each District. Consultants prequalified by the P & D department were engaged on Division level for verification of identified / screened roads with reference to on ground viability / necessity. It was ensured that no urban road shall be included in the programme, enntire road length shall be taken up for rehabilitation in total and not in pieces / smaller lengths and no rural roads having length smaller than 5 km shall be considered for rehabilitation  

Scope of Services

  • Condition survey of existing roads and its structures and Recommendation by the consultant, whether the road should be rehabilitated or not with reference to it’s on ground condition. 
  • Collaboration with C&W Department, Urban Unit, and DGM&E for Third-Party Validation (TPV/TPA) for rural road projects. 
  • Assess and verify the quality and quantity of ongoing road rehabilitation projects at different project stages. 
  • Use GIS technology to identify damaged roads within a web or Android based system. 
  • Review reports from Resident Consultants in each division and submitting a comprehensive review report with individual findings. 
  • Conduct laboratory testing at four milestones (25%, 50%, 75%, and 100% completion) for sampled roads.
