Project is aimed at managing floodwaters by constructing 100 small dams in all 35 districts across Balochistan. The project is funded by Federal Government of Pakistan and it is  divided into 05 packages (20dams/Package). More than 60 have already been constructed under first 3 packages whereas package-4, is presently under construction. The basic types of dams proposed comprise of concrete gravity dams, modified homogeneous and zoned earth embankment sections with maximum height varying from 40ft to 110ft. (10 m to 35 m. The 60 constructed dams have so far provided a storage capacity of more than 300,000AF and command area more than 110000acres within a period of 15 years.

Scope of Services

  • Review of design and updation of PC-I. 
  • Design support during construction on site specific design changes. 
  • Prepare pre-qualification and bidding documents. 
  • Shortlist contractors and evaluate bids. 
  • Provide recommendations for the award of contracts. 
  • Development of construction drawings. 
  • Identify and address technical issues during construction. 
  • Construction Supervision and Management of Contract and claim handling. 
  • Approve the Contractor’s program, Quality Assurance and Quality Control Plans. 
  • Ensuring the compliance of approved Quality Assurance and Quality Control Plan. 
  • Managing procurement of Contractors, overseeing project planning, progress monitoring and evaluation. 
  • Manage Variation Orders, process claims, and update Contract costs. 
  • Supervise field laboratory, monitor progress, and assist in the Contract takeover. 
  • Prepare Operation & Maintenance Manuals and Completion Report. 
  • Conducting final inspection of works and issuing completion certificates.
